Welcome message from the President

Welcome message from the President

Dear Visitor, Dear Friends!

At the beginning of this year, I officially took over the presidency of the Hungarian-Japanese Economic Club (MJGK) from my predecessor, Mr Sándor Kiss, who has successfully led the Club for more than two decades and who is well-known to the Club, its members and my esteemed friend.

In the following, I will summarize how our Club, founded more than half a century ago, is trying to cope in today's fast-moving world within such a traditional, one might even say classic, framework!

The recently adopted new Statutes of the Club faithfully reflect the changes and developments of the past decades. Still, our basic objective has remained the same: we wish to bring together in an informal way natural and legal persons with interests in Japan-Hungary and interested in Club life, and thus to promote and develop international economic relations, especially between Japan and Hungary. We can contribute modestly to developing of cultural and other ties by operating as a Club, including personal friendships.

We are convinced that in today's very complicated and conflict-ridden world, the island nation of Japan is also an island of balanced tranquillity and prosperity, even though it is struggling with economic problems that are well known elsewhere. As a member of the European Union, Hungary can count on successfully implementing of the Japanese experience in overcoming its well-known economic difficulties. The MJGK is confident that many Hungarian characteristics have been and will be successfully brought to Japan in the future, making the lives of the Japanese people more beautiful and richer. The members of the Club play the essential mediating role through informal, friendly contacts, and a goodwill service.

I want to announce that the MJGK has four new members this year. I look forward to your continued interest!

László Urbán
President

Dear Visitor, Dear Friends!

First of all, thank you for finding and opening our website in the huge "ocean" of information flow, in today's internet dumping! What you are/are reading next is the "lead article" of the renewed website of the Hungarian-Japanese Economic Club, if such a concept still exists in today's fast-paced world, in the world of podcasts and short messages!? However, we, the members and managers of the Club, even in the style of our website, would insist on the style of our Club operating within such a traditional, one might say classical framework, which was founded by our predecessors more than half a century ago!
